October Project

We will venture into working on linen using counted cross stitch and back-stitch. The photos show this design stitched on 32 count linen but, you can stitch it on 28 count if you like. I will have a sample of the design stitched on 28 count linen at the September meeting. You will need two pieces of linen for this project. If you are stitching on 28 count linen the pieces should be 4 inches by 4 inches square. On 32 count linen you can use either 4 inches by 4 inches or 3 inches by 3 inches which ever is more comfortable for you to hold. You will be using a darker thread and a lighter thread for this piece. If you have over-dyed thread and you want to manipulate thread you can do so. It will be easier to use two different colors or values but, the choice is yours.

This project uses linen and will help anyone who has not stitched on linen to be more comfortable with linen in preparation for an upcoming class with a national teacher. This is a small project and can be completed in a short amount of time.

I will answer questions and have the samples at the September meeting.
